Craft Sale (September 30 to October 6, 2016)
The Craft Sale that was initiated by Wednesday Craft class members in support of the Yellow Brick House, a charitable organization that provides shelter and counselling services to abused women and children in York Region, was a huge success. In April, we asked AGOAC members to donate scrap yarns to the craft team. Responses from members and non-members were astounding; we received ample new and unused yarns. Since then, volunteers and team members had been busy knitting and crocheting creative items and making preparation for the sale. Most of the items made from donated yarns were sold within the first four days of sale. The team was so motivated that additional items were donated to raise more funds for this meaningful sale. The teamwork exhibited by all involved truly exemplified what AGOAC is all about - friendship, cooperation, commitment, unselfishness, caring for one another, fun, laughter, and a kind heart, just to name a few! Many thanks to everyone (members and non-members) for supporting this meaningful event, we couldn't have done it without you. We are proud to announce that we raised a grand total of $3,388 for Yellow Brick House -- a truly rewarding experience and achievement by the Crafters! Congratulations to Kitty Ko, the winner of the prize draw for a red bear. A special appreciation goes to Maggie Tsang for her dedication - 100% attendance of the whole event! Great Teamwork, everyone! Angela Wong Craft Sale Project Leader |

Badminton - Fall 2016
Thank your patience for the roster which took longer
than we expected due to interruption by the Badminton Open House as well as continuous submission of registration then slowed down our process. It forced us to close the Google Form so that we could concentrate at what we have to do. We did our due diligence to finalize the roster consisting of 190 members, each having 1 or 2 play sessions a week. Google Form will be released on Wednesday Sept. 21 at 8 a.m. for registration as wait list. Only members not in the roster are allowed to register as all sessions are full. You are also welcome to our drop-in
sessions in Monday BDM1A and Thursday BDM4C. They are filled on the basis of first-come-first-served. Registered
members are encouraged to notify your court monitors in the first week about your
vacation time in order to fill empty spots by those on the wait list.
Don't forget to bring your new member card (Green), proper indoor court shoe and $10 annual birdie fee which is not included in the
membership fee. Please click the following link for roster and registration for wait list : Enjoy the game. See you in the court. |
